Fire Department
The Bolivar Fire Department provides fire and rescue services from one fire station to a population of approximately 5,800 people over a 6.3 mile area of the city.
The Fire Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year with 10 full time firefighters and 23 volunteers. Each firefighter is trained and certified through the Tennessee Fire Service and Codes Enforcement Agency (TFACA). The department strives to meet or exceed national and state standards, training and emergency response through the continuing education for all personnel, implementation of national safety procedures, and the acquisition of the safest fire, rescue and EMS equipment possible.
The fire station is located at 210 W. Jackson St. and houses a communications center, offices, meeting area, kitchen, living, sleeping quarters and bay that houses three 1,000 gpm pumpers and one 1,500 gpm pumper. Bolivar's ISO rating is a Class 5, and provides mutual aid agreement with eight other departments in Hardeman County.
