"My cousins, brothers and sisters and I would wait 'til evening, 'til the fireflies came out and we would try to catch as many as we could. We'd bring our little jars and try and fill them up. We didn't have many toys, we didn't have money, but we had imagination. We would make up games like this all the time." NJ Woods is a self-taught artist that draws inspiration for her paintings from memories of her life growing up in the Mid-South. Originally from Orange Mound, she has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Memphis and the surrounding region for over a decade. With its whimsical atmosphere and playful spirit, Full Moon is indicative of her unfiltered style, seeking to express a sense of boundless wonder found in life's simple pursuits.
