Lurlynn Franklin is a Memphis native, who received her MFA in Painting from Memphis College of Art, and teaches in art in an elementary school in the Memphis City Schools system. Her vibrant, multi-patterned compositions often belie a satirical message, turning a critical eye on the social structures of her surroundings.
